We have had an amazing week to end our first half term in Moonbeam Class. Although we have not been in for a couple of weeks, the children have more than made up for it with their fantastic work, contributions and efforts in class

This week, we have looked at the story ‘ARGH SPIDER!’ where we have discussed characters, their feelings, made predictions and concentrated hard on using punctuation accurately such as full stops and question marks. In Mathematics we have been looking at one more and one less than a number and concentrating on counting to 20 accurately. In Science, we have looked at different types of animals that are herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. The children have enjoyed our topic of animals and we will continue to look at different aspects of the animal kingdom, next half term.

The children have all put one hundred percent effort into their Phonics lessons this week as we have recapped some of our phase 3 sounds. They are working hard to segment and blend words when they read and I am incredibly proud of them all.

On Wednesday, the children made pop art self-portraits and they worked really hard to add different colours and include all of their facial features in the correct places. Their work is on our gallery and I am sure you will agree they are all wonderful.

Today, has been our spooky day and the children have loved making wands, playing games and dancing.

Our merit certificate winners this week are Noah and Joshua.

Our star of the week is Riley.

Our good friend of the week is Dexter.

Our footballer of the week is Frankie, chosen by Danny from AFC Fylde.

I would like to say thank you for all of your continued support this half term. The children have all been wonderful during these uncertain times and I am sure you are just as proud of them as I am.

I hope you all have a lovely half term break.

Stay safe,

Miss Wilson and Mrs Dorota.
