We began our week with a visitor. The big green Dragon came to our classroom and left a glitter trail from flying through the window. He made an awful mess and ate one of our apples. We decided to ask him a few questions.
“How did you get through the window?” – Junior
“Can you change size to fit through things?” – Marcel
“Why did you eat an apple?” – Essie
“Why did you leave a mess?” – Beau
“Did Miss Wilson leave the window open?” – Harley
“Where did you come from?” – Zara
On Tuesday we all wrote him a letter and lots of children wanted him to come back and visit us again soon. However some children didn’t want him to visit again because he made a massive mess and left glitter everywhere!
Also this week, we have been creating sequences and movements in the style of different animals in P.E. Everyone enjoyed performing to their friends and they all put so much effort into their routines.
In Science we have explored categorising animals by what they eat and learnt about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.
In R.E we learnt about different beliefs and discussed what we all believe in and how we should treat each other with respect, even if we don’t think or believe in the same things.
In Mathematics, the children have shown me their wonderful knowledge on 2D shapes and we have learnt about their properties including sides and vertices. On Friday we made pictures using 2D shapes. (Please see our gallery for our pictures.)
In Phonics we have recapped and learnt ee, igh, oa and oo and the children’s spellings for next Friday include these sounds.
