Week commencing 02 October 2023

In Mathematics we gained an understanding of BODMAS, while in arithmetic we looked at fractions, applying our multiplication and division skills to various problems.

In English we continued our topic of the eruption at Pompeii. Having finished our diary entries last week, we are now looking to create our own newspaper article. We started the week identifying the features of a newspaper article including the use of headlines, hooks, columns, images, captions etc. We continued by looking at the grammatical features of this style of writing, and finally planning our rough draft.

In SPAG we revised determiners, pronouns, and phrases.

In History we continued with our World War 2 topic, looking at the propaganda posters which were common place at the time. We discussed what the various posters implied and how propaganda and bias was used. We then created our own propaganda posters.

In Art we continued with our Andy Warhol topic, continuing with our inspired art using water colour as our media of choice.

In Computing we continued with our Python based text adventure, continuing on from the narrative and on to coding the various choices.

In PSHCE we have continued on our topic of friendship and our three week Friendship Magazines project.

In PE we have started a new autumnal inspired dance Ms Leah, while with Mr Mearns we continued our rhythmic gymnastics routine.
