We have had a very busy week again in Rainbow class and done some very clever work which I am very proud of.
We started the week off thinking about all the different kinds of sentences we could have; statements, exclamations, questions and commands. Each day we have looked at these in more detail and have attempted writing our own versions.
In Maths we have been looking at measures. Using tape measures and rulers to find length and height. We have accurately measured using cm and m. We enjoyed finding the tallest and the shortest members of our class.
This week’s Science lesson was all about germs and how they can have a negative impact on humans. We have set a challenge to help rid all germs in Rainbow class and will be discussing this next week. We played a germ game with glitter to see just how quickly germs can spread from one person to another if we don’t try to be really hygienic.
In Geography this week we researched the United Kingdom using Atlases. We discovered the countries that make up the UK, their flags and their capital cities.
Our RE lesson was a discussion about why Christian people want to look after the world and we thought of ways to help look after our environment. We all did a litter pick around school and it felt really good to do something good.
In PE we have had a fun Dance session with Miss Leah learning moves to Thriller and Firework. Our coordination, rhythm and timing is getting better every week. We have also enjoyed a Yoga session to help us to feel calm and relaxed after working so hard.
The Beebots made a star appearance in Computing this week as we had to program them with the correct instructions to do our shopping for us. We really enjoyed doing this in our groups.
Today we have been focusing on our reading skills, inferring and deducing information from a text, rehearsing our 2 and 10 times tables and have had a big quiz to check we have remembered all of the important facts from our lessons this week.
Well done to our star of the week – Matilda W
