What another wonderful week we have had in Sunshine class. Children have continued becoming familiar with the indoor and outdoor environments as they have chosen their own resources and activities to engage in throughout the week. The water and home corner areas have been very popular.
We have done lots of number work; including recognising numbers to 10, forming them, knowing one more and one less, counting on and back, and singing lots of number songs.
“I like sausages popping” (Ethan)
“My favourite is the Hippo one because I like to balance like a Hippo” (Elle)
Our story this week has been Rosie’s Walk. The children were very good at concentrating on the book and had some great ideas for what the fox would be thinking and feeling throughout the story. Some children did some wonderful writing about the main events in the story which was very impressive.
Mrs. Preston has helped lots of children to make shape pictures this week and has been helping to remind children to take turns when playing games and remember the rules.
Mrs. Bradley has been helping children with their reading, working on how a character might be feeling throughout the story. She has also been helping children to make words using our phonics sounds.
Miss Chippendale has been challenging children’s thinking skills, and developing children’s communication and language. Children have enjoyed carving our giant pumpkin with her, and learning about Harvest and things we give thanks for.
Thank you for all the generous Harvest donations and for your support by attending the Harvest Assembly. The children have all been fantastic with learning their Harvest songs.
Well done to this weeks star of the week – Lucy
