It's been a frightfully funny week in Sunshine class we have been reading Funny Bones and finding out all about the skeleton. Some children were fascinated by all the bones in the body, how they are different shapes and sizes. We learnt a song to find out which bones were connected to which. Brodey, Ethan, Etienne and Scarlett all helped to build a skeleton by placing all the bones together in the right position- good work guys!
Sunshine class have worked hard in phonics and as a result have produced some excellent writing. Toby, Elle and Joshua created wonderful skeleton storyboards and skeleton speech bubbles.
Maths has been linked also to funny bones this week. We have continued ordering numbers, writing missing numbers on a number line and ordering skeletons from the smallest to the biggest. Some children chose to be measured this week. We found out our tallest sunshine person is Ethan and out shortest is Brodey. We will compare our heights at the end of the year to see how much we have grown.
Today we have entered a competition for Mrs Soole. We have all collaged and coloured winter pictures.
Mrs Parkinson chose Etienne as our star of the week and awarded certificates to Aaron and Scarlett. She was also very proud that all our sunshine children were able to go to the attendance party this afternoon. Well done.
As it is half term next week we hope you all have a fun but safe week. If you celebrate firework night remember the safety rules. See you all back on Wednesday 8th November at 9am. Don't forget your homework and your P.E kits.
