This week we have enjoyed learning about butterflies. We have read the story of the hungry caterpillar which has shown us the life cycle of the butterfly. We have all been able to make our own life cycle wheels which we can explain to our friends.

When we went to the butterfly house on Tuesday we were able to see each stage of the life cycle in detail. Emma our tour guide showed us the eggs on the leaves, we couldn't believe how tiny they were. Jamie-Leigh and Toby spotted the caterpillars which were well camouflaged on the leaves. Iyla-Rose and Mya enjoyed looking at all the caterpillar chrysalides. We couldn't believe how different they all looked and were amazed to see a butterfly breaking out of one. The butterflies that we saw were beautiful, all different colours and sizes. Some landed on our colourful caps and some were eating fruit. We were very brave as they were all flying around. The visit has meant we have been able to do some amazing writing about butterflies. Well done to Iyla-Rose, Elle and Toby for their writing which was put on Facebook and awarded headteachers stickers for.

We have also done some fantastic work on symmetry, making our own butterflies which are the same on both sides.

Our star of the week this week is Oskar.

Our merit certificate winners are Mya and Toby.

This week Dan has chosen Oskar for the yoga certificate.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend, see you all on Tuesday at 9am.
