This week we have been making the most of the dry weather by getting outdoors!

In English we have been continuing to develop our reading skills and our word type recognition.

"We went looking for nouns and adjectives and wrote them with chalk." - Arham

"A noun is a naming word." - Mikquell

"An adjective is a describing word." - Reegan

We also played 'Fastest Finger First' this week where the children have to work in pairs to find words by skim-reading a text.

"During geography we made a map of our playground." - Alan

"We made a key for our map." - Ada

"In RE we have been learning about Hinduism." - Ada

"We have been looking at different Hindu Gods." - Alice

"Miss Heaton taught us hockey skills in PE this week." - Daniel

"We dribbled the ball with a hockey stick." - Darcy

What has been your favourite thing we have learnt about this week? Feel free to leave me a comment for us all to read!

Yesterday I sent home permission slips for our class trip to the cinema to see Peter Rabbit. I have chosen this as a reward for their hard work in the run up to SATs as it is a programme that many of the children in our class love. Please make sure that contact details are also written on the permission slip so we can contact you should we need to.

Homework this week is a maths division sheet as well as the spellings and homework web we always have.

Star of the week this week is Drew and merit certificates were awarded to Darcy and Kayden.

Well done!!

Have a lovely weekend and don't forget that it's bank holiday weekend so enjoy an extra day off together! See you all on Tuesday,

Miss Ellison :)
