Welcome to Moonbeam Class! We have had a fantastic first week in our new class and have enjoyed getting to know one another. The children have settled in really well and I am thoroughly proud of them.

We have welcomed two new members to our class this week and all of the children have been kind, welcoming and friendly towards Bree-Anna and Percysledge.

Our week started off with us looking at our new topic on animals, where we have discussed our favourite animals and our own experiences with different creatures. We made a selection of our most loved animals to go in our safari zoo, which is our new role-play area in Moonbeam. In our creative are we have made our own animal masks and designed zoos. The children have been able to explore all aspects of the classroom including the new areas and outdoor area.

In our English lessons we have looked at our new book, ‘Class Two went to the Zoo’ and the children have loved looking at story and have been able to recall key events. In Mathematics we have been able to fill in missing numbers in number lines and hundred squares, as well as writing numbers beyond 20.  

On Friday’s assembly, our Merit Certificates this week went to Bree-Anna and the other went to all the children in Moonbeam, for being fantastic role models to the new Sunshine Class. Our Star of the Week was Damian.

This week we have sent home the children's new homework books, reading records and spelling records. Homework is due by Friday each week and the spelling records are for the children to practise for their spelling tests, which are on Thursday mornings. Adults in School will listen to the children read but please read with your child at home and record it in their books.
