It has been lovely having Sunshine class back at school this week, all of the teachers have missed their smiley faces. Everybody has enjoyed being back with their friends and sharing their Christmas experiences.

This week we have been reading the story of The Three little Pigs and acting out the story with masks, funny voices and of course, lots of huffing and puffing. The whole class thoroughly enjoyed this, especially the part when the wolf fell into the cooking pot, ouch!

The children have had great fun exploring different types of materials and working out which would be best for building different types of houses. We have also been outside exploring our school grounds and taking pictures of the materials we’ve found. Using a map we have been looking at school landmarks and discussing what materials they were made from and whether they are man-made or natural.

In Maths we have been learning about estimation and have also learnt a very catchy song to remember what it means. Sunshine class have been amazing mathematicians estimating different objects and then counting to check their answer.
