This half term in year 2 we are learning about Florence Nightingale.

"She was helping the soldiers." - Sophia

"At night she held a lamp and checked on the soldiers." - Millie

"Florence Nightingale cleaned the hospitals." - Dylan

"Scutari hospital was in Turkey." - Alara

"The hospital was dirty and there were maggots in the soldiers wounds." -Filip

"They didn't have any beds in the hospitals before Florence came." - Jack

"There weren't enough blankets and medicine." - Ela

"There wasn't enough food in the hospital." - Ellie

We are going to be learning about Florence Nightingale, as well as Mary Seacole and Edith Cavell, and create a powerpoint in computing all about Florence and her work. 

This half term we have a new homework web and a second piece of homework. This week the children have a maths worksheet. This is to help us get ready for the SATs later in the year. 

Our merit certificate winners are Nevaeh and Dylan and our star of the week this week is Ben.
