Unfortunately this week Mrs Parkinson has been off sick. The children have kept in contact with her by writing letters to her in our key groups. On Monday Mrs Parkinson sent each group a game to play and a letter asking us all about our half term, the children wrote back telling her something they had done and then Mrs Parkinson replied asking them questions and they answered them. We looked into the journey of a letter and how it got from one place to another.
On Tuesday the children gave out the letters they did for homework and their friend wrote back to them. The children have enjoyed sending and receiving letters.
In Maths this week we have been practising our number formation. As we have had some lovely weather we made the most of it by going outside and doing our number formation on the yard using chalk. We have also been looking at 1 more and 1 less than a given number.
During the half term holiday Mrs Carney got married and became Mrs Herd. We are all still getting used to saying Mrs Herd. On Monday we made a congratulations card for Mr and Mrs Herd. Today we looked at some of the wedding photos and the children said they wanted to make a cake so we did.
In our key groups we have rotated the games round that Mrs Parkinson sent in so we all got to take turns and play different games.
Aswell as all that we have still managed to fit in our reading 3 times this week and we have been doing our mile a day. Wow we have been busy!
On Thursday we had our football development session and the certificates this week go to Lillie and Tyler
Our merit certificates this week go to Adam for fantastic maths work when working on 1 more and 1 less and Aleks for super reading.
Our star of the week is Logan
