Welcome back! We can’t believe it’s the last half term already. Time flies when you’re having fun.

This week we have had a special phonics week, practising lots of our sounds whilst doing lots of different activities.

Ines – I liked playing phonics twister.

Elle – My favourite was the phonics treasure hunt.

Lucy – I liked the car park phonics.

Kayden – Playing splat.

Etienne – Wearing the phonics crown.

Thank you to those of you who completed the phonics activity booklets over the half term holiday with the children. It is very much appreciated and has made a difference for them this week. Mrs Dorota and I are super proud of how hard all the children have worked this week and they are more than ready for next week. Bring it on!

We have also practised for Sport’s day, which will hopefully go ahead next Wednesday (12th), depending on the weather. We has Lloyd in from football development, music with Mrs Bennett and D.T with Miss Chippendale.

Pooljama day has been lovely and we all felt very strange being in our PJ’s! This afternoon we went on the Book Bus which was very exciting. Some of the children chose books and we chose a story to listen to as a class. The children loved looking at all the different books and stationery. We all had a wonderful time, adults included.

Our merit certificates this week have been awarded to Joshua for encouraging and supporting his peers with their phonics and to Damian, for astounding us with his phonics understanding and knowledge this week. Our (phonics) star of the week was Ines, who has worked extra hard this week, completing lots of activities independently.
