Welcome to our first Bronze class blog!

Our first week in Juniors and we have survived! The children have really impressed me this week with how grown up they have been. Everyone has settled very well - well done!

We began our week by getting used to our new classroom, playing some games including People Bingo and making birthday cards and bookmarks.

We have set our own targets for English and Mathematics, alongside our own personal targets for our classroom target display (which looks fantastic!).

On Wednesday afternoons this half term Mrs Bennett will be teaching us for music. This week we started learning how to play the recorder.

We have also started to look at one of our new topics for History and English - Ancient Egypt! The children have learnt about hieroglyphics and how to write our own names. This is a very exciting topic which we will be continuing next week.

Homework and spellings have been sent home tonight and the first piece will be due next Friday. We have also been sending home reading books each night and the school have invested a lot of money into a new reading scheme which they children seem to be really enjoying. Please bear in mind that the 'levels' on the back of these new books don't match the previous Oxford Reading Tree scheme, so if your child is now on a different 'level' this does not mean they have been moved down. Any questions please do come in and see me.

Our first PE lesson will be on Monday afternoon so please can those children who have yet to bring their kit in do so on Monday. PE kits should be in school at all times.

Our class page on the website has been updated so you can find any information you may need including homework webs, curriculum overviews and a copy of the spellings list. Make sure to keep an eye on our gallery too!

Have a wonderful weekend after a busy first week at school and I look forward to getting started on lots of new topics next week.
