With the colder frosty mornings this week, it has been the perfect opportunity to investigate ice. The children loved exploring the ice on Monday morning, feeling it, writing in it, warming it up, seeing how it was different in different places around the outdoor environment.
Each group have investigated how to melt ice and free the bear from the middle of an ice block. The children had some great ideas which we tested.
This week phonics has been stepped up a notch as we have been recognising lots of high frequency words and trickier diagraphs within the phase 3. If this wasn’t enough, we have also learnt how to add 2 single digit numbers together, and we were amazing at this.
Today we have decorated the classroom with the amazing Chinese new year decorations the children have made for homework.
Next week we will be enjoying the celebration so please keep your eye on our gallery for photo updates.
