Covid 19 Catch Up Premium Funding
The government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up. This includes a one-off universal £650 million catch-up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that all schools have the support they need to help all pupils make up for the lost teaching time due to school closures and children having to isolate. This equates to £80 per child. Although all children have had their education disrupted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, it is likely that disadvantaged and vulnerable groups will have been hardest hit and this enables us to put in the relevant support to help them catch up.
During the academic year 2020-2021, covid 19 catch up premium funding will be used to support our pupils in the following ways;
- Employing a HLTA dedicated to the catch up programme who will support children throughout school
- Additional resources to help compliment the curriculum and supporting the children
- Purchasing of individual classroom equipment for all children
- Resources to support the mental health and well-being of all children.
Funding for 2020/ 2021 based on £80 per pupil is £7800
