I was elected as Chair of the governing body in October 2016 having served on the committee for a few years. I spend half a day in school every week and join the school for assemblies and celebrations. I am a former rugby- playing businessman from Northern Ireland's Causeway Coast and have been a Minister at Tanterton Christian Centre since 2011. I am a trained children's ministry worker and love preaching and teaching and showing the relevancy of Jesus to everyone in the 21st Century. I also thoroughly enjoy speaking engagements abroad in churches and at conferences in Spain and especially in Myanmar (Burma) in SE Asia. Liz has been a very active and involved member of the governing body for a number of years and in October 2016 was elected as vice-chair. Liz spends quality time in school on a weekly basis and is involved in many activities with our staff and children. Liz is a former deputy headteacher and worked in the teaching profession for over 40 years. Liz is also a very active volunteer on the Ingol and Tanterton Neighbourhood Council.

My Name is Carol Hope and I have been a Community Governor and Pool House School for about 13 years. I live in Ingol with my Husband and our dog! I enjoy gardening, walking and holidays in our caravan. I attend Tanterton Christian Fellowship, which is the church next door to the school. At church I help with Chattabox (Mums and Toddlers Group), Time Travellers ( Children's Club for Infant and Junior Children) and Peacemakers (Youth Club). In my working life I was an Intensive Care Nurse at The Royal Lancaster Infirmary, but took early retirement 5 years ago and I am loving it!

June has been a member of the governing body for eight years during which time she has been very pro-active in attending school events and celebrations. June lives in Ashton, near to school, with her husband of 60 years. June worked as a mental health nurse and was a volunteer at a support centre for vulnerable adult females. June is a regular church attender and enjoys time with her family and friends.

My Name is Vicky McEwan and I am a happily married Mum of three children aged 11, 9 and 8. Two of my children currently attend Pool House school and the other previously attended before moving to High School. I live within the local community and I work at Pool House Under 5's Nursery. I am the Pre-School room leader and i enjoy my job very much!

I am the parent of a pupil in school. My daughter is currently in Year 1 and has attended Pool House School since reception. My daughter also occasionally attends the Breakfast and After School Club as my Husband and I both work full time. I have only recently joined the Governing Body of Pool House School having taken up office in the Autumn Term 2016.

In September 2017 I will have been a member of staff at Pool House School for 20 years. I first joined the school in 1997 as an NQT, joined the management team three years later and was appointed as Headteacher six years later, a position I have thoroughly enjoyed for the last fourteen years. Pool House has been on a tremendous journey during this period and is now a successful and happy school and one which I am proud to be part of.

Mrs Gates is a long standing member of the staff at Pool House, originally employed as a teaching assistant before taking on the roll of Office Manager. Mrs Gates’ expertise in school is invaluable and supports the very smooth running of the school on a day to day basis.

Mr P Mearns

Mr Mearns is our Assistant Headteacher and Year 5 Class teacher. Mr Mearns joined the staff of Pool House in 2003 as a member of the teaching team and is now a key member of the Senior Management Team. Mr Mearns has taken a very active role in a number of Local Authority initiatives and projects such as SEAL, School Sports Partnership and more recently World Class Leadership.
