Reading
The Curriculum Co-Ordinators for reading are Miss Ellison and Miss Wilson
Reading is an important part of our curriculum and we ensure that children are given the opportunity to develop key skills in Reading on a regular basis. As a school, we follow the National Curriculum Programme of Study as well as the Lancashire Programme of Study. The key skills studied include word reading and reading: comprehension. In Key Stage One, Reading and Phonics is taught during daily sessions. In Key Stage Two, Reading Skills are taught at least 2-3 times a week for a minimum of 20 minutes a session. We use Oxford Reading Tree , Rising stars and Collins Big Cat Reading schemes
